Now I already know what you’re thinking. You’re sick of reading/seeing/watching anything that involves the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water. First I’ll say that Simple sponsored many people to review their product, but this post is definitely not sponsored. I’ll admit that those sponsorships sparked my curiosity in the product. So is it worth the hype?
I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Simple’s Micellar Water and I agree with those positive reviews. I don’t think that it is a miracle product that will cure all your skin issues but I do think it cleans my skin nicely.
I use the micellar water at least once a day depending on my shower schedule, which is when I really wash my face with running water and a heavier cleanser. When I take a shower in the morning I will use the cleansing water at night before I go to bed and then moisturize afterward. If I shower at night, then the next morning I will use the cleansing water to wash my face.
Like I said earlier it’s not a miracle worker. But what I love about this product is the convenience. I get lazy especially when I’m tired and don’t want to spend 20 minutes on skincare. At the same time when I wake up in the morning I don’t want to splash mean water on my face–it’s mean because I just woke up. So the cleansing water really helps me to wash my face without it being a big deal.
I use the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water by putting a generous amount on a cotton pad, purchased at Dollar Tree, and wipe it all over my face. Afterward my face feels clean but not stripped of all its oils. I can tell it cleanses my face because the cotton pad has gunk on it afterward.
It doesn’t removes eye-makeup easily. It takes off my eye shadow and eyeliner but my mascara sticks around–which just means I use a makeup remover to get rid of it. Although, when I get out of the shower and see that some left over mascara is hanging out just below my eyes the cleansing water works really well to quickly get rid of that leftover makeup.
In the past few months I have found that using gentle and natural products on my face really helps my skin stay clear and this cleansing water fits into that realm. It’s effective yet gentle–not so much natural…
Ok con time, it’s expensive! For 6.7 fl oz, I paid around $6 at Target. Here’s a link for it online. You may not think that’s expensive, but I can be quite frugal. This is the first micellar water I have tried but in comparison to the Garnier micellar water which is around $7 a bottle–for 13.5 fl oz–you get around twice the product for a dollar more. I have purchased the Garnier micellar water and will be trying it next.
